What is the process like when booking?
INITIAL ASSESSMENT / BODY READING
The first consultation with your Physiotherapist will be an individual assessment in one of our clinic rooms. They may look at your posture, range of movement at a joint or muscle strength. There may be some element of undressing, and we encourage clients to wear comfortable clothing such as a vest top and/or shorts, depending on whether you are seeking treatment for an upper or lower body issue. After the assessment, the physiotherapist can use a variety of treatment modalities and techniques to treat your condition.
For a deeper understanding of your injury or problem we may use assessment techniques such as:
PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENTS
Manual Therapy
• Joint mobilisation and manipulation.
• Trigger pointing.
• Acupuncture is effective activation of the body’s nervous, hormonal and naturally occurring pain relieving systems to bring the body back to a state of balance.
• Ergonomic assessment and advice.
• Soft tissue manipulation aims to release tension of the soft tissue in the joints.
• Dry needling which is an effective technique for treatment of pain and dysfunction by stimulating the body’s release of natural pain killers.
Electrotherapy
• Ultrasound
• Interferential Therapy
• Laser Therapy
• Magnetic Therapy
Exercise based treatment
• Rehabilitation Pilates where the physiotherapist prescribes individually designed rehabilitation programmes specific to your needs.
